Union Square Farmers Market with Lacey

I went out to a great restaurant in my neighborhood last night with two doctors. French Roast is less coffee shop and more French ambiance. I love it. Lindsay and her roommate are smart, beautiful ladies and I enjoyed a nice conversation and laughter over a good meal.

Today my puppy woke me up to "go potty" at 5:30am. Guess I should cut down on the people food I add to make their doggy food taste good! I usually get up at 7:45am on Saturday and Sunday to offleash the pups in the park until 9am. But this week has been stressful and I am so tired. I had dreams in between hitting the snooze button likek 5 times (before finally turning it off). It's amazing how I can feel guilty that I'm missing the offleash time even when I'm SLEEPING. I had weird dreams too...Debbie Allen - the dance woman from FAME was in my dream! She told me she was going to swim and where...then my teeth were falling out and crooked. (obviously my dental frustrations showing up in my subconscious!) Anyhow...by the time I gave in to getting up - the clock showed almost 10am!!! Whoa. Seems late - but pre-dogs, I used to sleep in every Saturday until noon. I guess that's how I catch up each week. When i realized that I had the house to myself - I turned the radio up, made coffee and pancakes and enjoyed the quiet absence of my roommates.

I took Lacey with me down Union Square. Initially to catch some of the "Dance Parade" - but it had gone by already. We did enjoy the sun as we wandered around the square park occupied by all of the farm fresh dairy and eggs, veggies and apples, flowers, plants and assorted baked goodies.

enjoyed a crisp, sweet apple, slice of banana bread and a pint of chocolate hazelnut ice cream. Oh my. SO good. And for $3 I could eat what I wanted and toss the rest.
My little Lacey was so patient as we waited for subways and buses. She's such a cutie and everyone loves to say hello to her. We had a great time out on the town!

Timmy and I later went out for a run down Central Park West and took a short siesta laying down in the middle of the Sheep's Meadow, looking up at the fast moving clouds...tomorrow will be rain.

5 more days till Sex in the City 2...a marathon on TBS...good night!!

Dawnnie Mercado is back in Town! Day 1-Saturday

So my friend Dawnnie is back in town for the weekend. She stayed with me and we had a two-day DATE! It was absoultely a TOTALLY FUN time! She's the gal that welcomed me upon arrival to NYC at the end of my cross-country roadtrip on March 2nd 2009.

She's fabulous. Fun. An actress. A caretaker and lover of her friends and children. Smart and beautiful. She's a blast and we had fuuun!

Before heading out on a walk through Central Park - we took the fur-babies for a walk through the UWS. The energy on the weekend is very different...everyone is on HOLIDAY it seems. You can taste it in the air!

We enjoyed the colorful smile of the fresh flowers and Pinkberry cones. Mmmm...but lick it FAST. It was a warm day!

And Lacey, bless her heart, always knows where the air conditioning is...INSIDE. She'll investigate every door we pass if I let her. Always happy to pop in and great everyone. In this case, she kept an eye on Dawnnie. I think she wouldn't have minded getting her "lick" on!

Our trek through CP was a gorgeous one. Really green and the huge grandfather trees offered a welcome shade from the sun.

I tried out my new glasses.

We walked across the park to the Upper East Side in search of a Yankees Tshirt especially requested by Dawnnie's family at Model's Sports Shop. I ducked in Banana Republic instead (of course, it was next door) and enjoyed a ridiculous sale: $22 for a $90 dress. YAY ME.

Dawnnie knows NYC much better than I and brought me to her favorite Mexican Restaurant on the UES. (Dawnnie - remind me?) Good mexican is not easy to find at a reasonable price in our neighborhood.

So I forgot to mention: Saturday morning before heading out - Dawnnie and I jumped on my computer and bought ourselved Center BALCONY seats for under $90 each for that night's 8pm show of Mary Poppins on Broadway. I couldn't believe what great seats. We were so excited. We caught a cab back across town so we could freshen up before leaving for the threatre! (I love saying that!)

I've walked past this theatre a zillion times since moving here - and now I'm finally seeing this show! With GOOD SEATS! YAY!

Dawnnie sat in the first row (balcony) center and I sat in the second right behind her. I couldn't have been happier! And she looks pretty please with her view as well.

Yes, those are my knees :)

What a fun day, let's get some sleep and hang out some more tomorrow...

TO BE CONTINUED.

Sunbathing Beauties

Singing "you are the sunshine of my life" to someone would mean a LOT. I love sun light. It is absolutely a MUST in my home. It's like AIR for me. And every day sights take my breath away in just the right natural light...

I'd sing it to them though...so precious to me.

A Windy Saturday Walk to Lincoln Center

I love my neighborhood on the Upper West Side below 79th Street. With all of the dog walking I do, it's so fun to have OPTIONS. And to "hang out" at Lincoln Center and eat some cold-cuts and cheese while sipping a little tea, well - that's a fun hour! Especially in the stirring wind... I *heart* wind.

Timmy loves to watch it all...his mind is so busy with all of the details that his eye catches.
Windy windy windy!! I love how the pups squint their eyes in the strong wind...

And then a show got out...
